I sampled the device on myself as a practice. I think it works fine as I created suction and started pumping. However, I read a review and said it was not recommended to use on oneself. Yet, that was the reason I bought it as it was advertised that way. Please explain.

Retired medic. If these had been available decades ago, I would have seen fewer dead people. Minimal strength required to operate. If concerned, consider the strength needed to reset the push-button type; you'd only get one shot. If you have an AED installed, why not one of these at each station? Break rooms, lunchrooms, diners and restaurants, etc. In any event, don't just stash it without opening it and familiarizing folks with it. Don't be looking for the directions while someone is choking.

This is one of those devices that you don't need until you need it, but when you need it, you REALLLLY need it! Once I received my SaveLix, I did my own test and evaluation of the device, and it worked perfectly!
